Tori Lewis
Title I
Hi, my name is Tori Lewis, and I’m beyond excited to be returning to Meeteetse Schools—not as a student, but as a Title I teacher. Growing up in this community and walking these very halls shaped who I am today, and it means so much to come full circle and give back to the place that gave me so much.
I know firsthand the strength, heart, and potential that lives in our students because to live in this community you have to be extremely multifaceted. My goal is to support every child, meet them where they are, and help them grow into confident, capable learners. I’m honored to be part of this team and can’t wait to make a difference—right here at home. Once a Longhorn, Always a Longhorn.
Tailor Kirkwood
Grades 3, 4, & 5
Hello, I am Tailor Kirkwood. This year will be my 5th year teaching, and I am excited to be back at Meeteetse School. I graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2021, worked as a Title 1 Teacher in Meeteetse my first year after college, and I taught in Kemmerer for the last three years. When I am not at school, I enjoy competing in rodeos, barrel racing, camping, hiking, biking, and paddleboarding. This year at Meeteetse School, my goal is to help students feel successful in their Reading/ELA and enjoy their school year while learning and creating amazing projects.
Sheril Slater
Music
Hello my name is Sheril Slater. I am a Cowley native and graduated from Rocky Mountain. I have two amazing daughters Shalin and Denna. I attended Northwest and Chadron State colleges. My focus was on voice but I also played the alto sax. I am going into my 15th year of teaching. I have taught in Basin, Belfry, and 11 yrs in Kemmerer.
I enjoy crocheting and gardening. My favorite sport is cheerleadering. I was a cheerleader through college. I have also taken 2 teams to Australia to complete. I am looking forward to this new adventure. I can't wait to share my love of music with all Meeteese students.
Lorraine King
Special Education
Hi! My name is Lorraine. I have been working with people with disabilities for my entire adult life, beginning when I got a job working with adults in a group home when I was in college. I quickly found my passion in life and went on to get a Master’s in Special Education so I could teach. I have been a special education teacher and case manager for 14 years. My favorite quote is, “Some see the disabilities; I see the possibilities.”
I have worked in small school districts before and I love it. There is something very special about a small community. I am thrilled to be able to join the Meeteetse community.
I live with my husband and two dogs. We have one grown daughter. In my spare time, I love to cook and hike.
